Santa came early for two anglers this year. The boat behind them is a drift boat - usually designed to carry the guide and two guests. Drift boats are used for fishing smaller rivers and streams.

Some nice keeper sturgeon from the lower Columbia.

Other than great fishing, the Northwest has some other magnificent treats. We were treated to this sunset while fishing the mouth of the Columbia.

Even though this sturgeon is sub-legal for retention, they are great fun to catch - especially for youngsters like this one.

This is Bruce holding a shad caught during our annual MDA shad derby. Every year we take kids with muscular dystrophy fishing for shad. I think we have as much fun as they do.

My father-in-law helped out during the MDA fishing derby, but after it was over we had to have some action ourselves. Frequently you will catch more than 100 shad per day. They fight well on light tackle.

Guide John B holding a typical fall Chinook from the Tillamook area.

My good friend and tournament fishing teammate Jeff with a big Spring Chinook. This is a nice size one for a springer.

This one would have been the new Washington state record if they would have kept it for weigh-in. The angler decided to let it spawn and to have a replica mold made. Thanks for keeping those genetics in the gene pool! Caught up with our Guide George. If you want a trip with George, book very early. Up to a year in advance.
